The Little Things

It's been a long time since I've written a blog post. I really have no excuse. I also have no intention of becoming one of those guys that writes mostly about how little he writes.

I would however, like to explain myself a little. First of all, I am a busy guy. I work full-time, I have a wife and two kids; these things take time. In addition to that, I also take on a number of freelance projects, and am working on building my portfolio (although you wouldn't know it by actually looking at my portfolio). I also have the challenge of writers block. I often find myself wanting to write posts on larger topics or concepts. I often write about something I am uneducated on myself, and learn as I go. Really, my blog is just a documentation of my own learning process. This becomes difficult when the thinks I want to learn, and write about, are not the same as what I actually do at work. Or with freelance projects for that matter...

I often take on project, mostly for myself, that take way too long to build or implement. I get part way and either need to move on to something else, or because my time is so limited, I get part way and suddenly there's a new, "better" way to do something, so I switch gears.

In the past 3 or 4 years that I've been a full-time developer, I have learned a lot but haven't written about all of it. Actually, very little in the grand scheme of things. So, I've decided to start writing about the little things as well. I'll hopefully tackle some larger challenges that I'll be able to write about, but I'm also go to make time for quick posts on some smaller lessons learned. Things like swipe events on mobile devices, or little CSS tricks.

Stay tuned! I have plans for a lot more content coming!
